Skimmer and Pump Cleaning
Your swimming pool is far more than a big ‘container’ of water. It’s a carefully designed and built system with several components that need monitored and maintained. Here at Coral Springs Pool Cleaners, we know the primary reason you had a pool installed was so that you, family, and friends could relax around the pool, especially on hot days. Why worry about skimmer and pump cleaning, tile cleaning, pool vacuuming and the rest when we can take all that work on our shoulders? Why spend time doing pool maintenance when that time could be spent relaxing?
Not to be confused with the skimmers used to collect debris from the surface of your pool, skimmers and skimmer baskets are an essential part of your pool system. Any overflow from your pool goes through this skimmer system and into a pipe leading to a filter. Most pools have anywhere from one to five skimmers, and the baskets prevent any larger debris from reaching your filter. How often these need checked and emptied very much depends on the area surrounding your pool – if you have lots of trees, then it needs done often – but we recommend at least once a week, maybe more in Fall.
Pump Maintenance and Cleaning
We regard your swimming pool pump as the most crucial component in your pool system. It is, in effect, the very heart of your pool as it circulates your water and keeps it clean and fresh. It does this by taking the water from your pool on a constant loop, passing it through the skimmer to remove larger debris, then through the filter for small debris, before returning it to the pool. The pump is made up of three main components, a motor, the impeller (which pulls and pushes the water), and a trap for hair and other small debris. These parts all need regular and careful cleaning and maintenance which we can provide as part of a package.
Your pump basket is the part which needs the most regular cleaning. If it gets clogged up, the pump will not work to its full capacity and water will not be circulate properly. This then leads to a cycle of the pump being affected by unfiltered water which will ultimately lead to your pump being damaged. So you can see that ensuring regular cleaning and emptying of the basket can save you costly repairs in the long term. Some parts of these tasks are fairly simple – such as emptying baskets – and can be done by you. But taking all the required maintenance tasks together, you can see that it can be time-consuming and complicated at times, so a regular maintenance package from Coral Springs Pool Cleaners is the ideal solution.
We find that some clients like to do the simpler tasks themselves and then defer to a professional pool service for the more complicated jobs which take more time. We can customize a package to suit your needs, including what jobs we undertake for you and how often we do them. Call us now to find out more.
